Aziz Ansari has been on the verge of stardom for what feels like forever, starting with internet shorts like "Shutterbugs" that lead to his comedy group Human Giant getting their on MTV show, which all somehow led into the Raaaaandy character from last summer's Funny People and Ansari's brilliant and hilarious role as Tom Haverford on Parks & Recreation.

Now the crucial major movie role may have finally come to him. THR reports that Ansari is in negotiations to join Danny McBride in 30 Minutes or Less, the caper comedy that Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer is planning to film in Michigan this summer. With McBride presumably playing the pizza delivery guy caught up in a bank heist, Ansari will play a junior high history teacher who joins him in the robbery.

I can't really imagine much better than a buddy caper comedy starring Ansari and McBride, two of the funniest men who usually will do anything for a laugh without seeming obnoxious or desperate about it. In a world full of movies that are pointless remakes or based on toys, this is one thing to be unabashedly excited about.
