Babylon A.D. Back To Work![]()
To the disappointment of film fans everywhere, the latest Vin Diesel film, Babylon A.D., has resumed filming in the Czech Republic after taking two weeks off. Variety is reporting that after taking time to fire a few crew members and catch up on set construction, Producer Ilan Goldman says the movie is ”back on track.” Thank God for that.
The French produced film, written and directed by Mathieu Kassovitz, who previously subjected the world to Gothika, also stars Michelle Yeoh, Charlotte Rampling, and Gerard Depardieu. Diesel will play a, wait for it, mercenary who is hired to transport a woman carrying a killer virus. Yeoh plays a nun. The film is based on a novel by Maurice Dantec. Producer Goldman said that the cause of the two week shutdown was for those normal things that always happen on big budget pictures. "When you make a small film, the problems are small. When you make a costly, ambitious film, it is always more complicated,” he said. On the bright side, he noted that the movie “is going to mark a new departure in action films.” That’s the kind of thing I expect from a Vin Diesel film, breaking the new ground. |
