Eric Bana is joining Rachel McAdams in New Line Cinema’s time traveling romance movie The Time Traveler’s Wife, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bana will play a dashing librarian whisked around in time. During unwanted travels he encounters a girl named Clare (McAdams), and they fall in love. One problem. While she moves normally through time he keeps leaping forward, showing up at different points in her life leaving the pair permanently out of sync.

Anyone else reminded of the Mel Gibson movie Forever Young? Romantic time travel tragedies have been done before, but this one is shaping up to have a pretty nice cast.

Eric Bana can next be seen in the gambling movie Lucky You with Drew Barrymore. It was supposed to be released in 2006, but after a lot of date delaying it looks like it’s finally being shoved out into theaters. All the delays probably aren’t a good sign. Pathfinder suffered similar treatment last year and I think you can guess how bad that is.
