Barbie And Ken Will Plan Their Dream Vacation In The First Toy Story Short![]()
Toy Story 3 was the perfect note for Pixar’s first franchise to go out on and the animation studio doesn’t plan to make any more Toy Story films. Pixar knows when to stop. That doesn’t mean, however, that Buzz, Woody and the rest of the toys from Andy’s room won’t live on in some other format. Back in June Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich revealed that they planned to keep the characters alive by using them in a series of Toy Story short films, to appear before their full-length features. Now we know what the first ever Toy Story short will be about.
Story artist Floyd Numan says he’s seen the short, to be titled Hawaii and Digital Spy caught him on twitter when he revealed what it’s about. Says Numan, “Ken and Barbie want to go to Hawaii.” This won’t be the only Toy Story short Pixar does, presumably other characters will get their shot at starring roles in them later on. But watching Ken and Barbie plan their dream vacation could be fun. Ken was one of the best parts of Toy Story 3 and his quirky personality seems like the right fit for comedy in a short film format. Besides, after they left me a wonderfully weeping wreck walking out of Toy Story 3, it’ll be great to have the toys back, in something a little lighter. |
