Bartha Fails To Launch![]()
Between The 40 Year Old Virgin and the upcoming Failure To Launch, a new stream of comedies are being offered to loveable losers that are feeling down about their lives.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Failure To Launch has snatched Justin Bartha for a starring role, joining Matthew McConaughey, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Zooey Deschanel (say that five times in a row without stuttering). The film is about a thirtysomething male (McConaughey) still living at home. When he suddenly meets the girl of his dreams, he questions if it's a ploy arranged by his parents to encourage him to move out. Bartha will play his buddy that gets involved with Deschanel. Tom Dey (Shanghai Noon) has signed on to direct, and Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember are writing the screenplay. Bartha is best known for his role as Nicolas Cage's sarcastic sidekick in National Treasure. He also played the mentally challenged boy in Gigli, which I am sure is now covered by white-out on his resume. Deschanel will next be seen in Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, and McConaughey can currently be seen in the action film Sahara. Parker has recenty signed a 2-year deal with HBO to produce and develop a new series. She is currently visible in a series of GAP commercials, soon to be replaced by Joss Stone. Failure to Launch hits theaters in 2006, courtesy of Paramount Pictures. |
