Batman's Batmobile Looks Like An Armored Tank In New Pic And Video

The Batmobile is going to have a busy year in 2016, popping up in both Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and David Ayer's Suicide Squad - but the vehicle isn't waiting until New Years to start making big public appearances. Check out the badass image below to see what I mean!

The annual Licensing Expo was held in Las Vegas today, and while many franchises were represented in the various title art around the convention center, the big showstopper was the unveiling of the Batmobile that you see above. But the image above isn't the whole show. The same official Instagram account for the event also posted a video of the dropped-curtain unveiling of Batman's new ride, which you can watch over and over again below.

Those who have been following the development of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad over the last year or so know that this isn't the first time that we've had our chance to lay eyes on the brand new design for the Batmobile - but that doesn't really do anything to make the thing look any less impressive. The machine looks like a cross between the sleek race car of the Tim Burton movies, and the tank-like Tumbler of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, and is all-together extremely badass. Obviously our best sense of how it works will come when we see the thing in action, but even just parked it looks extremely cool.

As noted earlier, we will be getting to see this new Batmobile in two different movies set to come out next year. We expect that it will be much more prominently featured in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - as the Dark Knight is actually playing a lead role in that movie - though we also know that it will be popping up in Suicide Squad as well (for at least one chase scene, where Batman will be shown chasing after Jared Leto's Joker). To this point the only gadget that we know about on the vehicle is the turret up front - which will presumably be used for non-lethal action - but hopefully it has many surprises for us that will only be unveiled when its actually up on the big screen.

Fans will be able to enjoy their first cinematic look at this Batmobile early in 2016 when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice drives into theaters on March 25th. Suicide Squad will follow up months later on August 5th.
