Christopher Nolan is breaking new ground with The Dark Knight, the sequel to his awesome film Batman Begins. Taking the theory that sequels need to be bigger than the original, Nolan is filming The Dark Knight for IMAX theaters, instead of just taking the standard print and adapting it to IMAX screens. The result is going to be a movie that is literally bigger and badder than the first film.
But you don’t have to take our word for it. IMAX is starting their promotion of next year’s movie with a short featurette on their website, allowing Nolan and others involved with the film to talk about the benefits (and challenges) of filming in IMAX. We even get to see a little bit of The Dark Knight filming – nothing substantial though, just explosions and the like. Still, we’ll take what little we can get.
Take a look at the video embedded below or head over to IMAX’s website to see it there.
