From watching the preview for The Battle for Terra I have gleaned that the film is an alien invasion movie turned on its ear. In Terra, we are the aliens invading another planet. Earth has been inexplicably destroyed and humans must find another planet that sustains life. As the audience, we know that Terra, a planet filled adorable flying aliens, is just that.

In the film, all human life has been concentrated into one large battleship that is running out of oxygen. In what seems to be an allegory for the American way, the captain of the ship decides that the only route to living on Terra is to annihilate its present inhabitants. Although the plot of the film is just generic Sci Fi, the trailer is worth watching just to see the animation. Is it claymation, CGI or a combo of both? I can’t tell but it sure does look cool.
