I think most of this year’s Best Picture nominees are horrifically overrated, but if you haven’t seen them then you don’t know just how right I am. AMC Theaters have you covered. They’re planning a single-day, Best Picture marathon for anyone who wants to get educated before sitting though the Academy Awards on February 24th.
On February 23rd, and theaters across the country, AMC will be showing Michael Clayton, There Will Be Blood, Atonement, Juno, and No Country For Old Men one after the other . They’re calling it their “Best Picture Showcase.” Here’s how it works: You buy one pass for $30. It covers all five films. Michael Clayton starts at a eleven and you stay in your seat right through until No Country For Old Men kicks off at 9pm and finishes a little before midnight. With your collectible pass you get a free large tub of popcorn and unlimited drink refills, which at movie theater prices just about justifies the $30 purchase price all on it’s own.
This is a damned good deal. For more details, and to find a participating theater near you, click over to AMC’s site here.
