Become A Grindhouse Movie Filmmaker With New Contest From Hobo With A Shotgun image
Back in 2007, prior to the release of the Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino double feature Grindhouse, the studio hosted a contest where fans could make their own fake Grindhouse trailers and send them in. The winner was a short made by a Canadian director named Jason Eisner called Hobo With A Shotgun, and it was attached to prints of the full film in Canada. Now, much like Rodriguez's Machete, Hobo With A Shotgun has gone from being a fake trailer to being a real film, and now Jason Eisner wants to give another young filmmaker the opportunity that he had.

Until 11:59pm EST on March 31st, Hobo With A Shotgun will be hosting a contest much like the one won by Eisner, where filmmakers can submit their own fake Grindhouse trailers. The contest is open to everyone worldwide and the winner's submission will be featured on the movie's DVD. For more information on the contest, head over to the FAQ page.

I must say that I really like this idea. I absolutely loved Grindhouse and I've heard nothing but amazing things about Hobo With A Shotgun out of Sundance, so maybe this is just the start of a chain reaction that will go on forever. And who's going to complain about that? Check out the introduction to the contest with Jason Eisner below.
