Behold The Fantasticar![]()
Even superheroes hate to walk, and Batman isn’t the only comicbook character with snazzy transportation. Behold the Fantasticar! USA Today has the first picture seen anywhere of the super-vehicle being used in the new movie from America’s least popular but still kicking super-franchise Fantastic Four.
Despite it’s name, the Fantasticar isn’t exactly an automobile and don’t compare it with the Batmobile. This car seats four and it can fly. The conveyance has long been a part of the FF comics, along with a lot of other pretty silly rides Reed Richards and his gang have crammed themselves in. Tim Story has decided to bring it to life for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. If this were Spider-Man, this thing would look pretty stupid. There’s a reason Raimi has avoided brining in the Spider-Bike. It’s lame. But this isn’t Spider-Man. Fantastic Four is the one superhero franchise still kicking out there that’s mostly about having fun with the genre. It doesn’t take itself so seriously. Fantastic Four is friendly. In that context, maybe this overgrown bumper car will work. To see a high-res version of the picture, visit USA Today here. |
