Being Elmo Trailer Will Make You Happy-Weepy For Sesame Street![]()
It’s often fascinating to hear stories of people who grew up with a very specific passion, and went on to achieve success and sometimes fame by turning that passion into a profession. Being Elmo appears to be a documentary that tells such a story.
Directed by Constance Marks, Being Elmo made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival last January, and tells the story of Kevin Clash, the man behind the voice and movements of Elmo. Whoopi Goldberg narrates the film, which chronicles Clash’s life and work, including his passion for puppets. Among those who are interviewed are Frank Oz, Rosie O’Donnell, and Cheryl Hanson. IndieWire posted the trailer below, which runs just over two minutes. The site notes in their article that it’s advised to bring tissues if you go see the film. I’m willing to bet they’re right on that, considering I needed tissues just to get through the trailer... I guess I'm just a sucker for Elmo and stories of people achieving their dreams. Being Elmo opens at the IFC Center in New York on October 21st, after which it will begin to hit other cities throughout November. |
