Variety says Halle is in negotiations to star opposite Benicio Del Toro for the DreamWorks Pictures film Things We Lost in the Fire. Written by Alan Loeb and directed by Dane Susanne Bier, it’s the story of a suddenly widowed woman (Berry) who invites her deceased husband’s best friend to live with their family. Del Toro plays the friend who, in the process of turning his own life around helps the mourning family deal with their loss. It’s the kind of movie that’ll probably end with a lot of hugging.
Right now, Halle Berry is out promoting her ass off to get people into theaters for X-Men: The Last Stand. She reprises her role as Storm in the third X-Men sequel when it debuts May 26th.
