Billy Crudup May Join Ben Stiller And Vince Vaughn In Neighborhood Watch![]()
Billy Crudup isn't an actor particularly known for his comedic stylings. Sure, those "Priceless" Mastercard commercials that he narrated a few years back were occasionally good for a chuckle, but as an actor Crudup has largely stuck to dramas and serious roles like Almost Famous, Big Fish, Watchmen and Public Enemies. Thanks to his inexperience, however, it will be all the more interesting if he signs on to star alongside Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn in Neighborhood Watch.
THR has learned that the actor is now in talks to be a part of the 20th Century Fox comedy. Other members of the cast include Jonah Hill, Richard Ayoade, Will Forte, Nicholas Braun, Rosemarie DeWitt and Erin Moriarty. The movie is about a group of family men who decide to form a neighborhood watch association, but really just use the time to hang out and get away from the wife and kids. The plan backfires when they discover an alien plot that could potentially end the world. Crudup will play the local weirdo in the movie. The film is set to be directed by Lonely Island's Akiva Schaffer based on a script by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. This could actually be really great. Crudup may not be able to crack jokes quite like the rest of the cast, but the proper level of weirdness could be gold. Just imagine Billy Crudup standing in the middle of his lawn with a garden hose watering his plants and never breaking eye contact with you. Something tells me that he will be perfect. |
