It's an idea that could only come from the mind of the man who wrote School of Rock.

Only the man crazy enough to take on Napoleon Dynamite would be willing to direct it.

It's a role that only Jack Black could, or would, play.

And it's coming to a theater near you. I can't tell you what it's called because it doesn't have a title yet, but the plot sounds just about right given the folks involved. According to JoBlo.com (who is sourcing the *ahem* always reliable Variety) the story revolves around Jack Black's character being a Mexican priest who turns to a secret life as a masked wrestler to generate the money needed to keep his orphanage afloat. I'm still waiting to hear if Mr. T. will be playing Black's wrestling mentor.

Black has already proved he has great chemistry working with younger actors (hey, when you're a twelve year old trapped in thirty year old body it's to be expected), but the thought of Jack touting a Mexican accent or a spandex wrestling suit is something I'm not sure I want to see. On the other hand, the folks behind it are a formidable comic bunch.

As I alluded to earlier, Mike White, writer of School of Rock and Orange County and Jared Hess, director of the oddly successful Napoleon Dynamite are teaming up with Black to bring the film about. No word yet on whether or not Tenacious D will take up Mariachi lessons to prepare for recording the movie's score.
