Ever since Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters, I’m not in the least bit surprised to see the words “movie” and “Adult Swim” put together. After all, if someone can make a movie from a fifteen-minute chaotic cartoon, they can pretty much make a movie from anything.
Fortunately, Adult Swim has a lot more going for it than talking meatballs, shakes, and fries. The next project to come from the late night cartoon festival will be Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody, based on the animated series Bleach, which is in turn based on the manga series. The story follows the adventures of Ichigo, a high school student who discovers he has the ability to see ghosts, and Rukia, a Soul Reaper who hunts down evil spirits.
The press release for the film, Memories of Nobody, announced that the feature film would see limited theatrical release this summer, mostly in major cities, and then come out with a winter 2008 DVD release.
Personally, I’ve never gotten into the whole anime scene, and other members of our writing staff out-and-out detest it, so this is probably the most comprehensive report you’ll get on the upcoming movie from us. For those who are fans of anime and Bleach, let us know what to expect in the comments below.

For one, I'm kind of upset that it wasn't shown anywhere near me in a 40 mile radius. I guess it was mainly shown on the East/West Coasts. I, thankfully, got to see it on the internet through places like Imeem/YouTube. For people that detest Anime's you should probably watch them Eng Subbed. Most of the time any American Company decides to Dub an Anime in English it does turn out complete garbage.
Anyway, well I hope to be able to see it in perhaps one of the smaller theaters. If not, then I'll just buy the DVD and watch it on a BigScreen somewhere.
My boyfriend and I are Bleach addicts. Bleach Rocks, but the movie only shows at 7:30 pm and we have to work. That's complete B.S. to do that to loyal fans like us. Getting Screwed out of seeing the movie on the big screen really pisses us off. I think its wrong and uncalled for. We ain't rich we have to work we can't afford to take off. So I just want to know why our percentage of the population wasn't taken into consideration when whoever decided to just show it for two days at one time. So to whoever decided that YOU SUCK.
All right! Bleach! I don't know why some people are so closed-minded to anime. It's entertaining, the storylines are much more developed, and themes are more complex than traditional American cartoons and comics. I say, if you never view anime with an open mind, you'll never know what you're missing. Give Bleach a chance.
