Bloodrayne Trailer

By Rafe Telsch: 2005-01-31 00:00:00
Uwe Boll’s back! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, just after the failure of his opening weekend with Alone in the Dark, the next project from the cinematic version of syphilis has been seen: another film adaptation of another video game. Wow, surprise, surprise surprise!

This time the video game is “Bloodrayne”, about an 18th century vampire slayer played by Kristanna Loken. Rayne rips off both “Buffy” and Blade in it’s tale about a half human/half vampire slayer of the undead, who manages to coordinate killing vamps with looking hot. Rumor has it Loken reprises her Terminator 3 trend of nakedness in the movie. Well, at least there’s something to look forward to.

My eyes have healed enough after being clawed out from watching Alone in the Dark to watch the Bloodrayne trailer and I’ll say this for it - it actually doesn’t look half bad. This is a first for Boll, whose previous failures include Alone and House of the Dead, both which were evident catastrophes from the first teaser trailers. One also has to wonder how Boll managed to hypnotize successful actors like Michael Madson, Billy Zane and Ben Kingsley into his wicked web of crapulence - all three are a step up from Alone’s washed up cast.

So the trailer looks all right, and if this was a few months from now I’d almost give it a fair shake, but it’s just too soon after Alone to say this has a chance of being good. For the few who still don’t know the name “Uwe Boll” is synonymous with “utter and total crap”, click the link and enjoy Kristanna Loken.
