Blue Alien Babe Concept Art From James Cameron's Avatar image
I’m eight kinds of excited over James Cameron’s next movie Avatar, the first he’s directed since making Celine Dion ridiculously wealthy by using her music in Titanic. It’s exciting because it’s Cameron, but also because of the technological innovation the film promises to bring with it. Cameron has been touting all kinds of amazing effects and 3D technology being used on the film. If it does as well as a Cameron movie typically does, and if the technology he’s touting is as good as he says it is, Avatar could end up being this generation’s Star Wars.

Even if none of that comes to pass, at least it has super-hot alien babes. The guys over at JoBlo have been lucky enough to find what they believe is the first concept art seen anywhere from Avatar. The image they’ve landed is a larger version of the one you see to your right, a blue, bioluminescent blue babe who looks like she just fell off the back of Tron’s lightscycle. I’m not so sure about the tale though, I’ve sort of been scarred by Catwoman.

Avatar is a science fiction movie about a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival. Update! According to the site where the image appears to have originally come from, the being pictured is an aspect of "the Na´vi race that populated the Pandora planet" in Cameron's Avatar. Whatever that means. I think I need a copy of the script. Anyone?
