In the legion of television programs that ended way too soon, Mr. Show with Bob and David ranks somewhere towards the top. Created by Bob Odenkirk and David Cross, the sketch show ran for four seasons on HBO during the mid-90s and never failed to be fall-out-of-your-seat funny. Odenkirk and Cross have stayed close ever since, appearing in episodes of Newsradio, Arrested Development, and Tim and Eric and now they'll be doing a movie together.

The Wrap has learned that Odenkirk is gearing up to direct his first full feature film since 2007's The Brothers Solomon, and has already begun lining up a cast that includes Cross as well as Krysten Ritter, Rainn Wilson, and Dennis Farina, though none of the actors are officially signed on yet. Titled Annie Jenkins: A Not Very Romantic Comedy, the writer/actor/director is keeping details about the film under his hat. Odenkirk most recently directed a segment of Movie 43, an omnibus comedy with other segments directed by Steven Brill, Peter Farrelly, Elizabeth Banks, Brett Ratner and Steve Carr, amongst others.

While they've never become A-listers or household names, Odenkirk and Cross are incredible talents that deserve recognition. Case in point:
