The film world was rocked earlier this month when, because of MGM's on-going financial troubles, it was rumored that the James Bond franchise was over. Fortunately, the story's source was uncovered as a story dating back to January when the project was first put on hold. Now the producers behind the films have finally said their piece on the matter and they seem optimistic.

Digital Spy caught up with producer Michael G. Wilson at the launch of the Bond videogame Blood Stone and was quoted saying that both he and partner/half-sister Barbara Broccoli are "convinced" that that another film will be made. Plans have been set since January that Daniel Craig would reprise the role for his third time since taking over the role from Pierce Brosnan under Sam Mendes' direction.

It's hard to believe that the franchise would ever really die. Every Bond film that has come out in the last 15 years (of which there have been six) has made more than $100 million at the box office and more than the film that preceded it. James Bond will no doubt return one day. The question is not a matter of if, but a matter of when.
