Sacha Baron Cohen, the guy starring in and responsible for the funniest movie of the year, is considering a starring role in the DreamWorks comedy Dinner With The Schmucks. It's a remake, but of a French film so let them have at it.

Variety says this is actually a movie Sacha has been attached to for several years, it just hasn't gone anywhere. Now DreamWorks has brought in the writing duo of David Guion and Michael Handelman to touch up the script and get the project moving.

The movie is about a publisher and his friends inviting the most pathetic people they can find over to their weekly dinner party. Sort of like date a dog night. If he ends up in it, Cohen will be the dinner party's biggest schmuck, a man so schmucky he destroys the life of anyone who associates with him.

With Cohen's Borat wowing the press and burning up the box office, he has an opportunity here to pick almost anything he wants for his next group of projects. It took an over inflated bidding war to get him commited to the Borat sequel Bruno, don't be surprised if he holds out for another big pay day in order to play a Schmuck
