Bourne Gets A Bad Guy![]()
This weekend you can see Matt Damon in the great new Scorsese pic The Departed. But while you're watching it, he'll be off in Tangier shooting his next movie, a third sequel in the Bourne franchise called The Bourne Ultimatum.
Principal photography has started, but until now we haven't heard anything about who will play the villain in this one. In The Bourne Identity it was Chris Cooper. In The Bourne Supremacy he faced off against Karl Urban. For The Bourne Ultimatum The Hollywood Reporter says he may be fighting Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal. According to HR an offer has gone out to the Motorcycle Diaries star, but negotiations haven't actually begun in earnest. All we know right now is that they want him and he's listening. Will he take it? The plot of this installment has the assassin Jason Bourne continuing to uncover the mysteries of his past while on the run. For Ultimatum he ends up in the sights of a "super-killer" I've never thought of Bernal as a super-killer, but he's a great actor. For him, shooting a guy in the head should be a snap. In the U.S., the next place you can see Gael Garcia Bernal is in The Science of Sleep, now playing in limited release. |
