Brad Garrett May Join Carell, Carrey, Gandolfini And Buscemi In Burt Wonderstone
Burt Wonderstone is already looking like a movie with enough magical star-power to lift it off the ground. With Steve Carell set to star, and Jim Carrey, James Gandolfini and Steve Buscemi also attached, not to mention Olivia Wilde, the cast of New Line's magician comedy is already top notch. Factor Brad Garrett into the equation and there may even more reason to speculate over whether this movie could manage to live up to the sum of its parts.
Directed by 30 Rock’s Don Scardino, Burt Wonderstone stars Carell as a Las Vegas musician who’s out-shined by a flashy illusionist who gains attention for their dangerous tricks. (The words “mind” and “freak” come to mind here...) Carell’s character breaks up with his partner and sets off to “find a way to rediscover his love for magic.” This, according to the Hollywood Reporter, which posted the news that Everybody Loves Raymond co-star Brad Garrett is in talks to join the film.
Per THR, Garrett would play Carell’s accountant, or soon-to-be-fired accountant, as it were.
Garrett’s claim to fame is likely to be his part on Raymond as well as his starring role in ‘Til Death, however when it comes to the big screen, he’s probably heard much more than he’s seen. His distinct voice can be heard in numerous films, including Ratatouille, Tangled and Finding Nemo. He was also the voice of Easter Island Head in the Night at the Museum movies. It’d be good news to hear that he’s officially on board with this film if/when that happens. Even if this sounds like it could be a smaller part, it still sounds like a great project for him.
