Brad Pitt may end up in a Terrence Malick movie, and I may get a jump on things and just start snoring right now. Malick’s movies are good for a nap, but not much else. The New World was about as exciting as being forced to watch Sean Penn talk politics.

Sean Penn by the way, is already signed to co-star in the film. He was supposed to be playing opposite Heath Ledger, but Batman’s new Joker has since bowed out. Before that, Heath Ledger replaced Colin Farrell. Tree of Life has been floating around awhile.

Variety says it’s Leger that Pitt is replacing. Or he will be replacing him, if current talks go well. For Brad’s sake, I hope they fail utterly. After a great turn in the underrated Assassination of Jesse James, he deserves better than Terrence freakin Malick. Of course no one seems to know what the movie is actually about, so there’s always a chance he’s doing something un-Malick and making a movie with giant robots and blasting lasers, but somehow I doubt it.
