It's been a long time since anyone put a lot of stock in what M. Night Shyamalan was bringing to the table-- even if The Last Airbender is a hit, it'll be credited to the franchise and not him-- so I'm as surprised as you to see in THR that a whole slew of stars are lining up to be in his next project. Reportedly Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bruce Willis are all loosely attached to star in the film, which is so top-secret the the top studio executives are only allowed to read the script in the presence of one of Shyamalan's assistants.

It makes sense that Willis would be interested-- he worked with Shyamalan on Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense, and the director is reportedly good to work with-- but it beats me what Paltrow and Cooper are in it for. It will probably be a while, too, before we hear enough details about the script to explain anything. Presumably The Last Airbender's performance will determine a lot about which studio picks up the script and how much they pay for it. In the meantime, feel free to speculate away about which of the three of them turns out to be an alien/ghost/modern-day-hippie/allergic to water at the end.
