Bradley Cooper Wanted For TMI, And Jim Carrey May Be A Magician![]()
Standard disclaimer to start with: this is a story about offers. Offers are when a studio or a production company send a script to an actor with the hopes he'll take it, but with no guarantee that any contract will be signed. And technically this news is counting as a rumor, since it comes from Pajiba's source Hollywood Cog and not any official announcement. So with all that out of the way…
Apparently Bradley Cooper is being eyed to take the male lead role in TMI, a romantic comedy that had initially been slated to star Anna Faris and Ryan Reynolds, as a pair of "just friends" who get really drunk and/or stoned and realize they're made for each other. Cooper recently bailed on the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan project claiming he was too busy with The Hangover 2, but that could have easily been an excuse to get out of working with the guy behind the disastrous The Last Airbender. Cooper makes sense as a replacement for Reynolds and might be interesting as a romantic lead and not just the smarmy douchebag, but again, it's just an offer, so there's no telling how likely this is to happen. The other bit of Pajiba's news is about the comedy script Burt Wonderstone, about a magician trying to pull his life back together and perform the trick he's dreamed of since childhood. It's written by John Francis Daley (known as Sam Weir from Freaks and Geeks) and Jonathon Goldstein, and apparently New Line has offered the script to Jim Carrey, who probably needs to pull his life together himself. Carrey seems so perfect for the role that you have to imagine it's more of a dream to get him cast than a reality, but then, he's probably not up to all that much anyway-- he's got Mr. Popper's Penguins coming at some point, but other than that, the man could use a hit. |
