Casino Royale has received tons of praise for turning Bond gritty and hard again, but apparently it won’t stay that way. Daniel Craig spoke to the Express about the next film in the franchise and told them that they want to return to making James Bond funny.

Craig says, “They [the producers] just want more gags. The next one’s going to be a lot funnier. Octopussy and Pussy Galore style gags.” It’ll be a return to the comedy that Roger Moore brought to the franchise in the 70s. “The Bond jokes will be flipped on their heads,” says Craig. I guess that means he’ll tell them standing on his head?

I’m sure the idea of Bond being funny is going to piss at least half of you off, but I’m all for it. I’ve never liked Casino Royale’s somewhat pathetic attempt to turn Bond into Jason Bourne. That’s just not 007s thing. It’s time for more Pussy Galore.
