Earlier this week we brought you a rumor surrounding Indiana Jones 4 and Jim Broadbent. According to an anonymous source on another site, it was made known that Broadbent would be participating in the latest Indy adventure, presumably as a replacement for the Denholm Elliot curator character.
Yesterday Variety confirmed the casting of Broadbent, although in a different role than we expected. Instead of playing a curator, the actor will play a professor at Yale University. Whether it’s just a bit part colleague of Dr. Jones or actually a pivotal role is currently unknown.
Score one for anonymous sources! Here’s hoping Broadbent gets a decent amount of screen time. As I pointed out in the first article, adding his name to John Hurt, Ray Winstone, Cate Blanchett, and, of course, Harrison Ford, is turning this into quite the cast.
