I really thought his exit was a given, but last week someone insisted that Pierce Brosnan had changed is mind and would be playing 007 again. That rumor had apparently started recirculation. Mostly, it was believed by the uninformed. However, the uninformed is a pretty big group.

So, just to straighten out anyone who might be wearing a dunce cap, Pierce has gone out of his way to tell all you in absolute terms that he won’t be playing James Bond again. Please people, get it through your heads!

In a statement posted on his official website, he had this to say: "I would like to thank all of you who have supported me over the last year or so in regard to my playing Bond. It was a decade of my life that I will always hold dear to my heart and a time that will never be forgotten. And you dear friends stood by me throughout. Many, many thanks! But everything comes to an end, and one must accept this decision which cannot be dealt with in any other way but with some kind of grace and knowledge that I did the job to the best of my ability"

Translation: I was good, but the movies were crap so now I’m going to drink Mai Tai’s.
