Browning Getting Sucker Punched

Browning Getting Sucker Punched Amanda Seyfried is out and Emily Browning is in when it comes to Zack Snyder’s next picture, Sucker Punch. The Watchmen director had to replace his leading lady when scheduling conflicts arose for Seyfried, who is locked in for the fourth season of HBO’s Big Love. Now Browning (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events) will take over.

Snyder’s Sucker Punch will tell the story of a female asylum inmate who loses the line between fantasy and reality as she imagines escaping along with other inmates. It’ll be interesting to see Snyder do something that isn’t a comic book movie, following his success with 300 and the mixed reception of Watchmen (frankly, even mixed response should be good since this was the “unfilmable comic”).

Browning may be locked in for the lead, but there are still quite a few other roles up in the air. EW.com reports that, while Browning is signed, Evan Rachel Wood (Thirteen), Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical), Abbie Cornish (Candy), and Emma Stone (Superbad) are still in talks to appear, presumably as some of the other inmates.
