Everyone is well aware that The Expendables has promised to be the most gun slingin'est, 'splosion filled, ass kickin'est action film that anyone has ever been brave enough to film. Yesterday, on-set blogger Ethelmae gave us the inside scoop about the latest scene that was filmed, which brought without a doubt the three most badass action heroes in the history of film together for the first time ever.
Director Sylvestor Stallone wrangled Bruce Willis and the Governator himself Arnold Schwarzenegger for a scene which took place at a church in Hollywood. Shooting the scene was a pretty big risk considering that getting so much awesome in one place at one time could have very easily upset the balance of the universe and ripped a hole in the space-time continuum, but thankfully Sly is a brave soul and the scene came together in record time, taking only six hours to shoot every angle necessary to wrap those script pages.
As any good crew member would have done, Ethel kept any sort of plot details completely hush-hush, but was able to let us know that Arnie and Bruce will be Trench and Church, respectively. The scene was shot in an empty church with no sort of big action sequences going down, just three piles of muscle saying some lines to each other. While we can't expect too much out of Arnie with his packed political schedule, we can hope that we'll be hearing some more about Bruce being back on set to kick John McClane amounts of ass. Fingers crossed!
