Bruce Willis May Take A Role In G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation![]()
Looking at the cast of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, it's easy to notice one of the film's biggest flaws: it didn't have any major action stars. Sure, Channing Tatum is on his way, but prior to making the movie his biggest credits were the Step Up movies and She's The Man. The franchise has already begun fixing this mistake for the sequel, signing on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to play Roadblock, but now it looks like one of the vintage action figures may be signing up (see what I did there?)
THR has learned that Bruce Willis is now in talks for a part in Jon M. Chu's G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. Should he sign on, the action legend will play General Joe Colton, a character introduced in the 1980s comic books that assembled the strike force and became the actual G.I. Joe. While Tatum, Ray Park and Byung-hun Lee will be the only actors reprising their roles from the first film, they are joined by plenty of newcomers including Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson, Joseph Mazzello, Elodie Yung, DJ Cotrona and RZA. The movie is scheduled to begin production this month and recently saw its release date pushed up to a June 29, 2012 release date. Bruce Willis has had quite the full plate as of late and doesn't seem to have any interest in slowing down. In addition to G.I. Joe 2 the actor also has Die Hard 5 picking up steam and rumors have been circulating for a while now that he will play the central villain in The Expendables 2. It's a good time to be a fan of Bruce Willis. |
