Remember movies like The Rock, Armageddon,Pearl Harbor, and Bad Boys? They share several traits. They all sucked and represent everything that is bad about lowest common denominator filmmaking. Pearl Harbor was especially putrid and made me angrier than our country got on December 7th, 1941. They were also all films produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Michael Bay. So the last thing we want is these two teaming up again to foist their swill all over us in heaping gobs.
Unfortunately, gob swill foisting may be in our future. Variety says that Bruckheimer and Bay may re-team to wreak havoc on HBO. The big time movie makers would executive producer a drama series based on the documentary Cocaine Cowboys. The documentary, and ostensibly the series, covers the Miami drug trade in the 1980’s. Expect lots of slo-mo action shots and shit getting blowed up. I guess if these two have to work together, it’s better to keep them on the small screen rather than producing something innocent children might actually see and confuse with a good movie.

The Rock and Armageddon were some great summer movies. I can sit there and watch them again today. Armageddon is one of my all time favorites. Bruce Willis and Sean Connery kick major tail.
