A few months ago, we brought you news that Sandra Bullock was set to play a crossword puzzle writer and part time obsessive creep in All About Steve. After quite a bit of time searching, it appears she has finally found that special stalk-worthy someone: Thomas Haden Church. I have to be honest: if I was into dudes, I might not think that was a terrible scheme. After all, he was brilliant in Sideways, and you can never really go wrong with a rerun of ‘Wings.’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Church is currently in negotiations to embody the apple of Sandra Bullock’s eye. Beyond just a trackable piece of man-meat, the Spider-Man 3 star’s potential character will work as a CNN cameraman, crisscrossing the country capturing current events.

I wasn’t really overly excited when I wrote on Bullock’s casting a few months ago; however, I really think this is a promising step forward. I’ve even moved it out of the “not seeing” column and into the “probably viewing” heap. That’s more of a testament to Church than anything else, though. He hasn’t disappointed me yet; so, there’s no reason to think this won’t be anything but enjoyable. Look for this in your local theater at the beginning of next year.
