Back in 2009, Samuel L. Jackson made headlines when he signed an unprecedented deal with Marvel Studios that would see him play the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nicholas J. Fury in not one, not two but nine different movies. It was a pretty big surprise at the time, but it turns out that Jackson wasn't the only actor Marvel signed a nine picture deal with. Sebastian Stan is in that exclusive club as well.

Stan, who plays the titular villain of the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, has been taking part in press events all week in promotion of the new superhero blockbuster, and while speaking to Newsarama in a one-on-one interview the actor revealed that he has a potentially long, long future ahead of him with Marvel Studios. Asked about his future with the company, Stan said that he signed a nine picture deal when he was cast for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which means that after The Winter Soldier he will still be playing Bucky Barnes in seven more movies.

Those of you who are familiar with the character from the comics might see where this is going. Bucky was originally introduced as Captain America's sidekick during World War Ii and then was brought back to life as The Winter Soldier in 2005, but his most memorable big change after that was to actually become the second Captain America after Steve Rogers' death. Whether or not this will ever actually come to pass is a big question mark for not only the audience, but for Stan as well. Asked about a potential future as the Captain himself, the actor replied, "I donít know! They donít tell me anything. Thatís just the truth."

Audiences will, of course, be able to get a better grasp on the character's direction and forward moment after they see Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Based on the great comics by writer Ed Brubaker and artist Steve Epting, the movie will feature Stan not as Captain America's best friend, but instead an incredibly dangerous brainwashed assassin with a metal arm and seemingly endless drive towards completing his mission. You can watch him in action in the trailer below:

Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which also stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. Jackson, will be in theaters on April 4th. Are you excited yet?
