Carrie Dishes Sex And The City Sequel Tidbits![]()
It may have taken a few years to get a Sex and the City movie going after the show ended, but after the success of this summer’s follow up to the series, don’t expect it to take that long for a second movie. In fact, sequel talk was prevalent as soon as the opening box office numbers were seen. Now it looks like more concrete conversations are going on about what to expect from a sequel, and when it may begin.
Leading Sex and the City lady Sarah Jessica Parker gave MTV Movies Blog the inside scoop on the direction of her franchise, and the excitement surrounding a sequel. It looks like the studio really wants to jump on this opportunity, with the possibility of filming starting as early as the summer. That would put the next Sex and the City movie in theaters by 2010, considerably faster than we got the first movie. As for the content, expect the movie to remain true to the characters and the stories that have been told so far. In other words: no baby for Carrie. Parker told MTV, “[Motherhood] doesn’t seem as if that’s going to be a choice she’ll make. It feels a little bit manipulative to toss that into the mix because she seems so pointed in a different direction.” I never got into Sex and the City, but the fans I know were really happy with this summer’s movie. At the same time, they tended to agree that one movie was enough to bring closure to the characters they enjoyed for so long. Even with a plot that stays true to the characters, is a second movie in the best interests of fans and the franchise? |
