Cary Elwes Threatening Natalie Portman's Friends With Benefits Relationship
The upcoming Ivan Reitman comedy that stars Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman already has a release date-- January 7 of next year-- and a large cast, but still no title. That doesn't seem to bother anyone, though, as cast members keep signing on and the very-very-near release keeps looming. The latest person to hop on board is Cary Elwes, who Variety writes will play a physician who develops a "flirtatious relationship" with Portman's character.
Portman and Kutcher are playing a pair of friends who try to have a "friends with benefits" arrangement together, but of course, things get more complicated than that. It really seems as if Elwes is being positioned as a viable romantic lead for Portman, which is a little weird given that she's nearly 20 years younger than he is, but hey, he's Prince Westley-- he's probably capable of dating anyone he damn well pleases. And given that another one of his upcoming roles is as George Harrison in Robert Zemeckis's mo-cap take on Yellow Submarine, his desirability quotient is probably just going up from here.
