After seeing AVP-R, putting any stock in the Strauss brothers' ability to direct traffic let alone a feature film is a tough thing to do. However their visual effects background is undeniably incredible. Avatar, The Incredible Hulk, 300, even Titanic were all helped by the skills of the talented effects tag team.

The brothers' latest directing effort, Skyline, predictably will be an effects heavy sc-fi thriller about a group of people stuck in a high rise while the world is being consumed around them by an alien force. This time around they've started surrounding themselves with actors of a slightly higher caliber than AVP-R so hopefully they'll see a little more success with this piece.

THR reports that Scrubs alum Donald Faison will be stepping in as Terry, a young entrepreneur who convinces his long time friend Jarrod, to be played by Eric Balfour, to come out to the west coast. Little did they know that out-of-this-world attacks were going to go down.

Balfour and Faison join “that girl” Brittany Daniel for shooting that has already begun in Los Angeles.
