New Catching Fire Photo Shows Finnick Getting Close With Katniss
Earlier today, we got a look at the cover of Entertainment Weekly's upcoming Catching Fire issue, which showed Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen and Sam Clafin's Finnick Odair looking suited up, armed and ready for a(nother) fight. Now comes a photo from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which gives us yet another look at the two characters today. And by together, we mean very closely together.
Unlike the more posed, promotional shot of Finnick and Katniss that will grace the cover of EW's next issue, the photo below is a bit more candid and shows Clafin's character cozying up to Katniss. Click the image below to view the bigger version on EW's Facebook page.
EW's caption says Finnick tries to break Katniss' concentration during training. If you've read the book (vague plot spoilers ahead!), you know that Catching Fire puts Katniss back into a new arena as Panem's Quarter Quell requires two past Hunger Games winners to return for a second turn at the fight-to-the-death match. Finnick is one of the previous winners, and in Catching Fire, in addition to his skill with knots and a trident, he also has good looks and charm to work with, which he uses in an attempt to buddy up with Katniss. Judging by the smile on his face in the training photo, he seems to be enjoying himself, though Katniss seems focused on what's ahead.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire arrives in theaters November 22. More information can be found in our Blend Film Database. And you can see EW's full feature on the film when their next issue hits stands on Friday.
