Catherine Hardwicke Returning To Twilight For Eclipse Reshoots?![]()
UPDATE! Summit is denying at least part of this rumor. Full details here.
Summit may be having second thoughts about kicking original Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke off the franchise. In fact, they could be about to hire her to come in and fix Eclipse. According to Lainey Gossip Summit isn’t happy with the work David Slade did on the third Twilight movie, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The movie comes out in June, but the studio wants reshoots, and the gossip is that they’re so unhappy with Slade they’re looking to bring in someone else to handle them. In particular the rumor is that they’re considering bringing back Chris Weitz and Catherine Hardwicke. Weitz directed the second film and it seemed to go well. Hardwicke, on the other hand, directed the first one and her departure from the franchise was a little rocky, so it’s easier to believe they might bring Weitz in to fix Slade’s mistakes. Except word is that Hardwicke is already in the neighborhood, having recently opened production offices in Vancouver, BC for her upcoming Red Riding Hood movie. Lainey claims she’s already been spotted checking out space for Eclipse reshoots. The scenes involved are described as “key” moments. There’s footage between Bella and Edward in a meadow and a few fight sequences they want redone. Don’t worry, even if this is true, Twilight: Eclipse will still make its June 30th release date. The reshoots are only expected to take three to seven days. |
