Just about a month after The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hits theaters, Nikki Reed will get her own chance to shine in Chain Letter. Well, I kind of doubt this will really be a chance to shine, but it’ll certainly give Reed more screen time than the Twilight series. The slasher film is about a group of friends who all receive an email chain letter claiming to end their lives if they opt to break the chain. Sure enough, they don’t pass the message along and one-by-one suffer the consequences.

The trailer is a bit on tacky side suggesting Chain Letter is just using the horror genre as a device, simply trying to bank on young hotties getting hacked up. This isn’t the film’s fault, but it also doesn’t help that the voiceover work is a little overdramatic. Anyway, Chain Letter slightly redeems itself with this new poster from IMP Awards. The imagery is eerily effective and the tagline implies this one can deliver big when it comes to presenting us with unique kill scenes. It also has a Saw vibe, which is ironic considering one of the stars is none other than the Saw series’ Jill, Betsy Russell.

Hopefully a clip will come our way to give us a better sense of what we can expect before the film is released on August 6th.
