Charlize Theron is doing something sexy and hopefully not sucky, which for me is a welcome career turn after being grossed out by her in Monster and bored to death by her in Head in the Clouds. That something is Aeon Flux and yes it is based on the old MTV series of the same name which I did not see because my parents believed cable television to be the work of the devil. Lately the more I see of MTV the more I think they may have called that one right.

Anyway, Charlize is starring in Aeon Flux in which she plays an operative 400 years in the future. She works for the “Monican” rebellion, which was started by an obsessed Friends fan. Disease has wiped out the planet, so Aeon is sent to kill the remaining government’s leaders. Maybe I don’t have that quite right. A, B, F? Something’s missing.

The point of this story is really just the picture posted to the right of all this text though. It’s the first snapshot from the film and the first look we’ve had at Charlize in cleavage… er in costume. As you can see, she’s wearing black. Aeon hits theaters in 2005 from Paramount, and if it flops as badly as Sky Captain, Paramount executives will respond by staying in bed, pulling the covers over their heads, and eating large tubs of ice cream.
