Check Out New Images From Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained
With the promise of the first trailer coming soon and excited buzz coming from Cannes, it's a good time to be anticipating Quentin Tarantino's new film Django Unchained. Now to sweeten the deal even more, Empire Online has unveiled a batch of new images from the film, as part of their "On Location" series of set reports. Check out Django (Jamie Foxx) and his German bounty hunter companion (Christoph Waltz) riding horses across the snowy wilds, the appearance of Italian actor legend Franco Nero with Django at a bar, and QT himself directing in a cowboy hat in the images below; don't forget to head over to Empire to see the full batch.
The article also comes with a quote from Jamie Foxx that's a hilarious mix of self-aggrandizing-- "given my background, I think I'll be able to get some points across"-- and insightful about the kind of controversy the movie may stir up:
When this movie's done, there's gonna be some hot button issues but, given my background, I think I'll be able to get some points across. The one thing that stuck out to me in the script was that Django was married. Back then, to be married was taboo. This is a love story. He's not trying to stop slavery. He's not trying to do anything but find the love of his life - which is like trying to find a needle in a world of haystacks."
In case you haven't yet heard, Django Unchained stars Foxx as an escaped slave who has been separated from his wife (Kerry Washington), and who teams up with Waltz's bounty hunter character to take her back from the vicious slave owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). The movie is also crammed with other actors, including Franco Nero, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Johnson, Bruce Dern, RZA and Walton Goggins, who is taking over in a role that Kurt Russell recently departed. The movie doesn't come out until December 25, but with that new trailer coming soon, it won't be long before we hopefully learn a lot more about the movie.
