If you’re watching this year’s Oscars, than you know that the opening really was the best part of the evening, other than the touching acceptance speech by Heath Ledger’s family. The opening featured Hugh Jackman in a bold Billy Crystal style musical montage, singing about this year’s big pictures (he didn’t limit it just to the nominated movies). The “low budget” approach and some great lyrical play made the opening the highlight of an otherwise droll evening (and, yes, I write that with the awards going on).
