China Gives Obsessive Avatar Fans A Homeworld image
As you've no doubt heard (it's news that's kind of hard to miss), Avatar is now the most successful movie of all-time, worldwide. While it has yet to achieve that status in America, it has done so in many other countries, including China. Why is this peculiar? Because China actually banned Avatar in all but a handful of theaters showing it in 3D. Now, inexplicably, they’re naming a mountain after it.

BBC News is reporting that the country is officially changing the name of the Southern Sky Column in Zhangjiajie, Hunan province to "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain." For those of you that have yet to see the film (yes, all three of you), the Hallelujah Mountains are the floating mountains of Pandora in the trailers. According to Chinese officials, the change was made both to honor the film and because photographs of said mountains were used as a model. Oh, and did I mention there will be tours? I can already see the tourism posters: “Because Pandora is far but Zhangjiajie is near!".

This news will come as relief to those dumb enough to suffer from Avatar Depression as now these nutjobs will have a place where they can finally be happy. And, better yet, this terrain probably isn't filled with wildlife that wants to eat you. Paint yourselves blue, head to the airport, and take the next plane to China. Don't let the door hit you on your way through customs.

Should you make it across the border, here's what you'll find:
