Chris Diamantopoulous Cast Alongside Kurt Russell In The Black Marks![]()
We all have rules to live by, and for me one of them is that I have to see any movie in which Kurt Russell has a badass name. It's for that reason and that reason alone that I am looking forward to The Black Marks, a movie in which Russell plays Crunch Calhoun, a motorcycle daredevil/art thief who signs on to do one last heist with his brother, played by Matt Dillon. Dimension acquired US distribution rights to the project last week and now it's added a new name to its cast.
Chris Diamantopoulous, who plays Moe in the upcoming Farrelly brothers comedy The Three Stooges, is now signed on to co-star in The Black Marks, according to Deadline. The movie is being written and directed by Jonathan Sobol, whose previous work includes A Beginners Guide To Endings, a comedy starring Tricia Helfer, Scott Caan, Harvey Keitel and J.K. Simmons. Jay Baruchel is also attached to play a character named Francie, but it's currently unknown what his involvement in the plot is. Diamantopoulous' previous work includes The Kennedys miniseries, in which he played Frank Sinatra; 12 epsiodes of 24's eigth season; and various episodes of shows like The Sopranos, Nip/Tuck, Frasier, and Charmed. The film is scheduled to go into production this month. While this project does recycle the tired "one last job" premise once again, we must remember that plenty of movies have used it to good effect: Heat, Blade Runner, Midnight Run, Sexy Beast... and this one has the bonus of having Kurt Russell starring. At the very least we can hope that it's a fun ride. |
