We've got two major movies about Marvel superheroes coming at us this summer, Thor in May and Captain America: The First Avenger in July, and it's been kind of fascinating to watch both films get promoted side by side. Marvel Studios has a lot riding on both of them but wants to make sure that we non-comic nerds can tell the difference between the two; trailers and new posters have been hitting at carefully calibrated times separate from one another, even though both of them are being kept fairly under wraps to maintain some kind of mystery.

Which is why it's surprising to see that there's a new image from Thor in this week's Entertainment Weekly, just a day after we saw another look at Captain America in the same issue. The new Thor image is available at the EW site and you can also see it below; it contains all the basics of what we've seen before, with Thor sporting his armor and hammer and making a pretty intense angry face. Maybe they're releasing it as evidence that Chris Hemsworth can do more than smolder and look good in armor? Or maybe there' some higher decree that there won't be any Thor images that don't include Hemsworth in armor until we're much closer to the release date.
