Chris Hemsworth Has A Posse In New Snow White And The Huntsman Image

A year ago, I never, ever would have guessed I'd have any affection for Chris Hemsworth. Of the superhero movies that came out last summer, Thor looked like an easy pick for the worst, all about a goofy looking Nordic god, directed by Shakespearean actor Kenneth Branagh, and starring Hemsworth, who was virtually unknown beyond his small supporting role at the beginning of Star Trek. And then, what do you know-- Thor turned out to be a lot of fun, in no small part because of Hemsworth's easy charm and brawny action skills, and now Hemsworth is a much-deserving, bona fide movie star, with plenty more big projects on the way.

First up among them will be The Avengers, which unites Thor with his superhero brethren Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America, but less than a month later Hemsworth will be back with Snow White and the Huntsman, an action-heavy take on the classic fairy tale. The movie has been stealthily promoted for months now, but without a new trailer on its way, we're instead getting new images from the film's Facebook page, including the one of Hemsworth and the dwarves you see below.

You may remember that Snow White and the Huntsman made the slightly unusual decision to cast regular-sized actors in the dwarf roles, bringing in familiar names like Ian McShane, Ray Winstone, Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins and Toby Jones to play the crew. They also added an eighth dwarf, which should make for an even larger army to help the Huntsman and Snow White (Kristen Stewart) against the Wicked Queen. Though most of the actors in this shot would be recognizable on their own, it's really hard to recognize them in their dwarf makeup-- I think that's Ian McShane scowling over Hemsworth's right shoulder, but that's really just guessing. Let me know in the comments if you recognize anybody else or if you're looking forward to seeing this spin on the classic fairy tale.
