Christian Bale Kicks Robin Out Of Batmobile

Not that Christian Bale or Christopher Nolan ever gave us reason to doubt them, but we’ve gotten ever more proof that the duo is committed to keeping another certain duo off screen for good. Though this quote from Starpulse.com doesn’t come with any context, I imagine Bale followed it with a big sarcastic grin: “If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I'll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work."

While I love the image of Bale chained to a radiator somewhere deep in the recesses of the Batcave, you can guarantee he wouldn’t be getting away with glib statements like that if there were a remote chance that Robin is slated to be part of the third Batman movie under Nolan’s guidance. Can’t you imagine the awkward moment where Shia LaBeouf or Zac Efron shows up on set, introduces himself as Robin, and Bale is forced to eat his words for the sake of his contract and a payday?

Apologies to Chris O’Donnell, but nobody particularly misses Robin in this Batman incarnation, and it’s good to know that the dark knight himself agrees with us.

hmm.. I thought the costume for o'donell's robin was horrible but he WAS a good Robin.
If they do come up with a Robin it should be someone with not that big an image, maybe... Jim Sturgess?

i hated robins costume in the 90's version ...and i dunno if they can make him more of a likable character ..if they can then yes otherwise noo ... and i have no idea who will be cast as robin ... not many to choose from hopefully not a well known actor they always suck

oh well so far the new batman movies are genius

Agreed, though at some point it would be cool to see another Hero show up somehow... maybe they could do a Robin, tasefully, without nipples, though ive said it before, NOT a 19-20 year-old Robin, a 14-15 year-old Robin, like he was supposed to be.

And dear God, he may be bankable right now, but NOT Shia.
