Christoph Waltz Will Not Be The Lizard In Spider-Man Reboot![]()
Last week, a rumor popped up that Christoph Waltz, also known as everyone's favorite Austrian and Inglourious Basterds' Hans Landa, was up for the villain role in Marc Webb's reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. The talk said that the actor was in talks with Sony to play Dr. Curt Connors, a.k.a The Lizard, a giant, angry, reptilian monster that serves as one of Spidey's classic villains. Sadly, however, the rumor is bupkis.
SuperHeroHype reports that Waltz will not be fighting the webslinger in the new film, the news coming from a source inside the production. The source, however, does promise that "there will be a great actor involved." As it stands, Andrew Garfield is the only confirmed cast member of the upcoming film. This news is actually pretty upsetting. Many web-head fans have denounced the reboot, but the inclusion of an actor the caliber of Waltz would have been enough to turn a lot of heads. Perhaps it's all for the best, however. As great a villain as he was in Tarantino's WWII epic, it would be nice to see him in a different kind of role. |
